The Opportunity

The Senior Information Security Analyst is responsible for the monitoring and investigation of security alerts and events at Velera.. This role is critical to maintain the security posture within the enterprise organization.

Day in the Life

  • Monitoring security events, alerts in Rapid 7 SIEM tool

  • Investigate alerts and events independently and with cross-functional teams as needed.

  • Manage the overall health of security tools and services including: Anti-malware, encryption tools, and SIEM.

  • Ability to create SOP and process documentation for the team

  • Mentor more junior information security analysts on best practices in the field.

  • Providing support as needed to the team in the execution of the Information Security objectives.

  • Prior experience participating in information security implementation projects

  • Shows initiative to keep up to date with cybersecurity trends

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in information security.

  • 3 years of experience in another IT function

  • Intermediate understanding of desktop, network, and server technology environments.

  • Information Technology concepts such as Operating Systems, programming languages, networking and databases.

  • Experience with a SIEM tool - Rapid 7 Insight IDR preferred

  • Experience with Anti-malware tools - Fidelis preferred

  • Experience with Encryption tools - Bitlocker preferred

  • Experience with DLP technologies - Forcepoint preferred

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
